On the spot! Fresh anything on a stick hands down, chicken, fish, backstrap.

Back at camp maybe some seasoning, but chicken or tenderloin warped in bacon on a stick... almost as good as $€X
Diced up in ricearoine is a easy one pan meal.
No one on their death bed ever said; I should have spent more time at work.

Cube it up and brown in a pan with oil, garlic, mushrooms and onions. Once browned pour in a can of mushroom soup, stir thoroughly and simmer on low for at least 20 mins. Serve over rice.

    Cant beat that!!

Last year a started simmering a lot of grouse in curry or butter chicken sauces. On rice with some naan bread was fantastic. Maybe not a good idea in hunt camp if you are trying to keep the odor out of your gear.

When it comes to game meat in the field for myself I find less is more, we've done grouse a few different ways in the field but I think my favourite is salt & peppered with cooking oil or butter fried quickly over a hot flame.

Appreciate all for getting back to me. I am less of a chef since my wife is the master chef at home. I am mainly the guy at home processing stuff to Schnitzel, stew, sausages, little chief smoking salmon/trout and cold smoke game sausages (pretty good at that I could say). I think I can do a meal on the spot to get by, however I got some feedback from you to improve while back to the camp. I hope I can contribute the same in the future. Awesome community.

There are too many ideas to list. On a stick over an open fire is primitive. In a pan over a fire is 10,000 recipes.
Bacon fat, salt and pepper are the best in a pan.

Look around is there someone you can introduce to shooting because that’s the only way we will buck the anti gun trend sweeping Canada! "tigrr 2006"

in camp, I like it simple.

Cut grouse breast meat into strips, dust with montreal steak spice, slow cook strips over a nice bed of coals. Dip in Franks hot sauce and wash it down with an ice cold beer.

Dang I mean second feedback about Frank's. Honestly I haven't tried Frank's hot sauce. I would offer bit of my stash of Charlie's Saucery sauce. See you out there. Thx
