LEH 3-39 October Bull Moose - Inquiries

Hi folks, so my friend Billy who drew LEH goat also drew a shared 3-39 October bull moose. What a lucky dude, and here is me 10 years no draw... Anyway, to capitalize the moose rut, my group will hunt bull moose first in early October then hunt the goat in mid or late October. Anyone has info / experience / suggestions in hunting bull moose in 3-39? My plan is to scan all marsh area, small lakes and ponds to find fresh tracks / scats. I also know a couple spots I've seen trees with antler scratch signs, so I will go to those spots to check for moose signs as well. Any info is appreciated, thanks

How many tags does your shared group have?

Only one bull moose shared among 4 group members. One of the group member is also a lucky guy who drew a goat tag.

First the goat, now the moose. Time for your buddy to put some boots on the ground.

Yes, he gotta be the luckiest guy this year... odd for goat was 1 in 397 and for moose was 1 in 35. He will be busy but happy this fall.

That's a pretty incredible draw.. I hope you post your results on this page. The moose population in the area is pretty good and your timing is perfect. Learn how to cow call, setup over one of the small isolated lakes in the area with marshy edges and you will get your animal

Yeah that's pretty much my plan; I have some marshy lakes in mind that I'd attempt to do some moose calling.

Has anyone in your group ever hunted/ dealt with a downed moose before? There's several things that I would recommend bringing to make the animal a little easier to deal with. They are huge animals
