Awesome article. If only the government would read these studies and start taking some action on the moose populations. But I guess thats like asking them to do their job, way to much to ask.

Well now that the facts suppport the Omenica model, it leaves no leeway for the regional biologists to experiment in their respective "domains".

A few points to consider....
First you need a healthy (numerous) population and they sure aren't in this immediate area.
Next you need a limitation on roads open for hunting.
Then you need reasonable limits put on total harvest.
Somewhere in the mix a concentrated effort needs to be taken for predator control. Both wolf and bear.
If these ideas were followed, I could agree with the sentiments. Unfortunately, those with authority choose to experiment with OUR resources and not deal with the obvious problems.
