So it's open tomorrow and the weather looks to be great. I was thinking about going out there and standing shoulder to shoulder with 6 thousand other anglers. :P Is it worth it? Will there be any Chinook there this early?

I suspect it will be better a week or so from now - but you'll only know if you get out there and try. Fred's is your best bet for accurate reports and updates on river conditions: http://www.fredscustomtackle.com/Fishing-Report_ep_77.html

With no fishing right now the reports are probably not helpful. Thanks anyways.

The summer run isn't nearly as hectic as the fall, you'll have to worry more about people tubing down the river.

Yeah it's a gong show, that's why I rarely go out there.

Water is high on the river. Lots of snags. Good luck.

Yeah I figure it's going to be high with both the torrential rains this week and now the blazing heat. Got a new spey rod though that I am dying to use.

Pops and I are taking the boat out near the mouth. We are gonna try for chinook with low expectations. Gonna bring the fly rod too and try for trout. I don't care if we don't get anything it'll be good to get outside.

Take some mosquito repellent. Little buzz bombers got me good this morning.

The weather is not great.
There will be lots of soft boiled eggs tomorrow.
Summer run of Chinook is real small.
But you can find the odd one.

It opens tomorrow.
And that's why I suggested you check Fred's site for an update on water levels..:-D Fishing can be good on the Vedder in July - but you need to time things right with the water. Should be dropping and clearing. Window for success on chrome fish is a small one. Best chance is with roe. You'll need near perfect conditions to be successful Spey fishing but it can be done. Good luck and be sure to post pics and a story of your success.

Well If I catch that's a bonus but I just want to get outside and get some use outta the new rod after a hectic week more than anything. And yeah I checked the link report and the river is pretty much high and brown as suspected. If I actually get out there tomorrow and get anything you guys will be the first to know. Cheers!

Any go out for the opener today? I went out with my dad and a buddy to the mouth. A few guys out there, no action though as far as fish go aside from an 8 foot sturgeon surfacing not 10 feet from the boat!
