Late season Region 2 Blacktail

Well my hunting season was not quite what I was hoping for, Working really got in the way this year. Some have worse troubles, I guess.

I got to do some late season Blacktail hunting, conditions were poor do to high pressure and cold weather. When down low the leaves were dry and loud or up high in the snow was crusty and loud. I had about four days to really hunt so I decided to go at it fairly hard. Leave in the dark and come home in the dark every day.
I put in a lot of high elevation miles in old growth areas that are usually producers, but I think the going was just to noisy with no new snow.

I decided that I would just be as quiet as I could with local conditions.

Yesterday on my way out of the timber( not to far away from the vehicle, first time ever ) I got this guy, the only buck I saw in four days. Squeaked in before the end of the season. has a fairly big body on him I am happy that I was able to cut my tag on a blacktail, one of my fav animals to hunt.
