I hunt that area yearly. Almost every year I pull a deer out of there. Last year was different though... Didnt see anything.. Moved camp to the Whipshaw area and had great success there.
Good luck!

Was out yesterday for awhile between Rabbitt and Pike, saw nothing. No does, no bucks, nothing. :(
Neighbours have been out a number of times this week to Boulder, Lawless, etc. and only saw does.
The only buck I've seen all week was a spike buck at the side of the road from Princeton to Tulameen. Wife went nuts and I got the "Why didn't you bring your rifle" :)

Went through there yesterday scouting and saw nothing.
My daughter and I spent 4 days up there (last weekend) in from #5, up around Murphy Lakes. Hiked our asses off.
In 4 days we saw 2 does, I close up and one 600-700 yards away and up 200 yards that had us busted from the get go.
Saw 2 white little foxes the size of large house cats.
But that was about it, not a lot of sign either.

My son and Chappy were in there last weekend, down on the lower road to Tulamean. They saw 13 does, no bucks and came home with a 2 1/2 lb blue grouse. They did see one camp that had 2 bucks in the tree. It's a large area with lots of critters on the right day. Keep plugging away and you just never know.

Been here in Tulameen for a week now and other than a spike buck standing beside the road from Princeton, I've seen nothing to shoot at. :(
Now my two dogs have:
1. Cornered a beaver in it's den;
2. Rousted 3 does ( no whitetails, damn ) and
3. Flushed out the biggest grouse I've ever seen, of course that's on a walk thru town, me with no gun. ;(
I'll try again in November.
just spent the weekend up blakeburn - NOTHING...well actually 1 does and 8 grouse. put on 200 km on the quad, got way up to 6000 ft
You are going too early........plan the last day of your hunt to be the last day of the season.....

was there 2 weekends ago and last weekend. first weekend none of our group got anything but last weekend one of us got a 3X2 sat morning on the next mountain past boulder (dont remember its name) and that night i took a 2 point up at the very top of boulder in the grassy area. there was another buck that i have seen a few times up there, never got a chance at him though - maybe hes still hanging around. i suggest walking quietly because it seems the bucks are easily spooked and take off quick.
good luck to anyone else going up there

Best time to hunt tulameen is in the late archery season, went up last year for 2 days and saw 40+ does (23 of them were in a group with one massive 4x4 buck as the alpha male) and the rest scattered around and ended up harvesting a Princeton 2 point.

Hunted some of the areas mentioned for over 30 years..... use to be some absolute hogs in there! Their numbers dropped when the Coq went in along with the deer fences as the big boys use to come across and winter in the area........
Still see the odd big one, but very far and few between. With the silver mine going year round and hauling coal year round, never mind the logging, the deer have been pushed back and in some cases out of the area....... heavy traffic in some areas!
Still like going up there for day or weekend trips for old time sake, still see animals, just not the numbers from before!

wolves are moving into the area. Likely clean out all the game for a few years in 8;4, 8;5, 8;6, 8;7. Oh Herby....isn't nature grand? Crap.

Same here - saw the first one last year.
Hear them often at night when we sit on the deck.
Drives our dogs nuts.

Saw lots of evidence in there last year, now they are fair game, I'll do my part to reduce a few.

There might be one left, but there's lots of places to look. This I think was the last one in the area, taken by my son last MLW
