We just returned from a 2 week mountain combo up the Alaska hiway. We all had a great time and saw many animals between us and we were able to take three good ones. Two of them a nice moose and a nice broomed ram were taken by other members on this site. So I will let them post the pictures and stories on their own. The other was a moose my buddy Steve got. We called it within 17 yards so identifying it as 3 on the brow was simple. It was a 9 x 9 41" bull. The shot was close but the bikes were not. They were parked at a designated trail about 4 km away. We deboned it and capped the skull plate to reduce weight. It was extreamly heavy and we carried it out in two loads each , arriving at the quads with the last load 20 minutes after dark. It was alot of work for a moose , but a good decision because it was the last legal bull seen by any of us. A few hot chocholates and carolines followed by a few cold ones the pain went away , and it felt rewarding to have packed it that far and to now be at camp. This is the bull Steve took and lets hope the other guys post their pictures soon.

Is that Steve Cole?

Ya thats him , we have been getting a 2 week trip in each year for about the last 8 years or so. Some years better than others , but we haven't been skunked yet. We have had an on going contest of who could shoot the ugliest animal to get out. Steve was winning with a river bottom bull moose ( 54" ) and a large 6 x 7 bull elk over a bluff. Now he has a new victory with this one. lol . I saw a tripalm in the mountains while I was looking for sheep if I had a tag left I would have Won. That one would have been 2 days for 2 guys mabey next year.
