View Full Version : Bear hunters around PG
Hey guys if there are any bear hunters around PG I saw an absolute hog this evening on the 1400 rd. I got a good look at him and would say he was 6 1/2 footer plus and he would weigh in around 400+. The head on him was massive and his belly was very very close to the ground. I would have had time to shoot him if I had had a tag. Cross the bridge at 5km and take the rd to the left . There are some cows just as you enter the rd and about half a klick up the rd there he was standing there looking at us. At first I thought it was another cow. Yes he was that big. Good luck.
I saw him tues afternoon. He's a biggun. Doesn't like people either :) A 410 feels really small when you're looking at a bear that big!

Most of it is in 7-10 and the end is actually in 5-13. There is (well used to be at least) an M-U sign hung way up on a tree at the boundary and I used to always wonder how many people missed that and shot moose in region 5 by mistake! Anf yes it is a vey popular spot but I would say 99% of the hunters are road hunters...you would be amazed at the game hanging around just 100m off the road...
Down the Pelican Lake rd. There is a rd closure sign hanging and a barricade as there is a culvert out at 10km and it is unpassable from there. It dosen't look like to much traffic as the barricade is across 3/4 of the road.
