Went back up north to 7-20A to take advantage of the 3 point or more bull elk season. It was very warm up there it got to highs of 26c to 28c. Got there Saturday Aug. 29 and that evening we saw 3 cows and 1 5x5 bull.
(You can just see the bull to the right of the picture.)

On Sept. 1, 20 minutes into the season I pulled the trigger on this.

It was quick and dirty also very warm. Sure takes the pressure off for getting meat in the freezer.
I bet the pressure is off. Nicely done.

The dirty part of the story is when I was loading the quarters on to the front rack my wife really couldn't lift much so I had to hug them to lift them up on the rack. I was blood from head to toe.

I didn't think there was alot of hunting traffic on the hiway but the field I usually hunt by myself, I had to share with 4 other hunters which I don't mind as that can work out for you as well.

Yeah we packed up camp and came home as soon as the meat was looked after. I would have love to have a walk-in cooler up there and hung up the elk and kept hunting for those mulies as I had a bow and a treestand with me.

Were they bulging when you were up there? They didn't make a peep where we were. I'll be playing with the elk, trying to get my buddy one down here until the end of Sept. Then going for moose in Oct. See you tomorrow!
