I'm wondering if anyone knows how to preserve velvet antlers.

There are injectable chemical processes, although I've never used any. Might be a good idea for a variety of circumstances.
However, I have shot 8 or 10 bucks in velvet over the years and have always 'freeze dried' them. That is, I've stuck them in the freezer for a few months and they come out perfect. No odor, no deterioration. This requires some patience and enough space in the freezer so they don't get kicked around.
Have a look at the 1985 whitetail in the following link; I took him 20 years ago and have the antlers on a plaque in my basement, still in perfect condition.
