when do walker females go into there first heat my female is 8 months and i just whant to be ready for the 3 weeks of hell as i also have a male.

ive got a young girl right now, she was about 10 months when she startded, every dog is diffrent though, my buddies dog is a year and a bit and it hasnt comer in yet. good luck it sucks.:-D:roll:

alot of things come into play genetics,health and diet,stress. some dogs will come into thier first heat at 6-7months whilst others can be a year or more, typically the larger the dog and the longer it takes to mature the greater the wait for the first cycle.
I would say typical walkers not from a particularly large slow to mature bloodline be about 7 to 9 mo as long as it is healthy and is not undernourished. if it comes a bit later i wouldnt worry about it as long as she is healthy .

If your male is a mature male and your female comes into heat make sure you keep a tight reign on her as i swear a male that wants a female in heat is a handfull lol!

both dogs very healthy vet checkup regularly but she is small even for a walker only 25 to 30 lbs and 20" tall if she is lucky but a real fire cracker.

cut any tracks yet, today was wicked, treed the big guy ive been trying to get in northwest bay today, let my buddie take it will post picks 162 lbs on the scale, 9'7". took one yesterday up by campbell river, 132 lbs, hunted that cat for 3 days

no not yet going to go soon with a local guy been doing it for 25 years has treed 4 cats allready this year and taken one.
