Got a wolf

Was calling moose the other morning in a cut and this fine looking girl poked her head out. Once I put her on the ground, wolves starting howling like crazy, especially one that was making a pretty distressed howl about 40 yards away from where she dropped.
I also posted a picture of a coyote that came into my moose calling a few weeks ago.

This may be part of the reason in some areas calling moose and elk seems unworkable! deer moose and elk in my own hunting areas become silent when they are pressured by preditors, I too have killed wolves that came in to elk and moose sounds,I have also been visited by Gbear and blackies that came in to elk , moose sounds , good shooting you'r now at the top of the food chain!

Nice wolf. What are you doing with it?

Well the hide was perfect and it is my favourite kind of colour, so I tubed it out and am going to get it tanned. There was no exit hole in the hide because I shot it straight on, so that was pretty nice.

Send that man out south of Vanderhoof about 100 k's with lots of ammo....Wolves are thick there this year..Just ask any moose you see...:eek:

good job! I seen a big black one the other day in the distance and at first thought it was a calf moose. Ive seen more this year then any other year. Have been hearing them howling often.

I missed a black wolf yesterday while field shooting geese in the 'hoof !!

I used a slug and missed him at ~45 yards. Couldn't believe a wolf came into the goose set up ....

It was my 3rd wolf sighting this fall. I agree there are more out there.

I used to keep some Hevi-shot "Coyote" loads when shooting them in the Kootenays, used to get 'yotes coming in maybe once every 4 or 5 set-ups.

Had a yote come in about half hour before the wolf did ... but he was smarter than the wolf and stayed away.

I had a pack of wolves come into my cow calling within bow range. What a rush!
