considering this area for a day trip, based on a tip from a fellow member. But he's never hunted the area. Just curious if anyone has any info on the kind of terrain there and if it's a busy area or not.
Thanks

The area immediately around Falls Lake would not be on my top 10 list of places to hunt. If you travel past the trailhead to the lake and down into the next valley you can travel back West on the Upper Coldwater FSR - there are some 1/2 decent cutblocks and I have seen a few hunters in there in the past....there are free-ranging cattle so they may pressure the animals.
I think there are better areas to the East of the Hwy.
my 2 cents

Wow surprised to see that name mentioned here. I've driven past there many times right near the toll booth. The bucks up that high gotta be big, that's way up there. Saw a muley buck cross the highway there but always wondered where I would be able to park? The area is used by people quite a bit in good weather, but maybe not now. There's gotta be snow by now....

Too many hikers around falls lake. A few very unfriendly to hunting.
