Been a bit of a slow season and after a week end of hunting, thought Oct long was gonna be more of the same. Was heading out for my last morning hunt on Monday when this guy popped up over the bank. Wish I had a good "Stalk" story, but I hadn't made it to my hike in spot yet, so I racked up a "Road" buck......:-D

Well done. Nice looking buck. You did get her right out of bed, jammies and all LOL. Congrats on your dear and her on her grouse. My wife just got her first grouse a couple of weeks ago, now that would have made for a funny vid.

Her grouse were pretty funny as well, as it took 3 quad moves and 15 shots(14 near misses). Had to give the grouse points for patience though.:mrgreen: And break barrels are a work out from a sitting position....

No doubt about species, it's a Mulie through and through. The broken main beam makes it more deceiving, especially when combined with no forks on that side.

At first light it did make me think for a second, but I had both species covered with tags, so it was a moot point....... :)

I'm no biologist, but Had him figured for middle of the road, age wise. Body was on the bigger side of average, but a fair bit smaller than the buck in my avatar. Not much, if any burring on his antlers and I'm certain he would have added size and mass to his antlers if given a couple more years of growth.

Teeth condition are a good indicator.....with his white face, big roman nose I was curious if he was a geezer.
Antlers are not the easiest indicator of an increasing or regressing rack.

Hahaha! Too funny! HBC just isn't the same without him though.

I had to do a double take, first glance at the photos I thought it was a whitetail too.

And I have to agree with rackem, you have a very good excuse to buy another shotgun and keep it loaded :wink:.

Nice unique rack. Your daughter is a great sport to get out bed and pose with her Dad's buck in her pajamas and gum boots! Good vibrant colours too instead of the typical camo guys.
